ORLANDO – UCF Athletics announced a new cryptocurrency partnership program for the upcoming 2022 football season on Tuesday, with the opportunity for a brand-new crypto token for each of the Knights’ seven home games at the Bounce House.
Pawtocol, an ecosystem of blockchain-powered solutions that make a positive impact on the lives of pets and pet owners all over the world, will serve as UCF’s first crypto partner for the 2022 program.
“Cryptocurrency is growing at a rapid rate, especially in the state of Florida, and this innovative partnership program is a perfect fit for UCF Athletics,” said Terry Mohajir, UCF vice president and director of athletics. “We’re excited for new partnerships in this realm, beginning with Pawtocol. Thank you to Colin Jordan at Pawtocol for being our first crypto partner and thank you to Richard Iamunno of AIC for assisting in the partnership.”
Each crypto partner for the 2022 season will receive awareness, branding, and a ceremonial coin for the coin toss.
“We are thrilled to continue on our journey as trailblazers in our industry, becoming one of the first companies in the country to partner with an NCAA Division I athletics program via cryptocurrency,” said Colin Jordan, CEO of Pawtocol. “Our partnership with UCF not only validates the utility of cryptocurrency, but it opens the door for other schools around the country to be able to do business in this new era of technology. This is another vital step in the broader adoption of frontier technologies, like blockchain and cryptocurrency, which will positively impact our lives on a global scale for many years to come.
“Pawtocol is proud to support a local university in UCF as we are strong believers in investing in our future generations, the dreamers who will push the boundaries what we know today and continue to disrupt industries the way we are in the pet space. We are incredibly grateful to UCF for the opportunity to partner with them and be able to spread the word about the work we are doing at Pawtocol.”
Pawtocol is an ecosystem of blockchain-powered solutions that make a positive impact on the lives of pets and pet owners all over the world. Their use of blockchain technology provides continuity, transparency, and data ownership opportunities that have never been seen before in the pet industry. The Pawtocol ecosystem includes a smart pet tag, an NFT marketplace, a blockchain pet fund, and their UPI (Universal Pet Income) token. Pawtocol’s goal is to deliver a new level of value to every member of our community, including the rescues and shelters that desperately need their support in their efforts to lower the homeless pet population and end kill shelters in America.
“We are very pleased to have assisted Pawtocol and UCF in putting this partnership together,” said Richard Iamunno, CEO of AIC. “The market for crypto sponsorships is growing, UCF has attractive demographics for the market, and an exciting athletics program. This is a groundbreaking agreement that allows crytpo companies to use their own tokens to enter the sports partnership marketplace. UCF has grasped the potential of this market and provides a platform for athletics sponsorships and cryptocurrencies to meet.”
